Seedlings are available in bundles of 10 and 100 and average 12 to 18 inches in height and are ready for planting when you receive them. Our seedlings are bare-rooted and can only be lifted from the seedling beds when they are dormant. The lifting and shipping of the seedlings usually begins in late December and concludes when seedlings begin to leaf-out in April. Several killing frosts initiate the seedling's dormancy and none will be lifted until they are fully dormant. Once lifted, seedlings are treated with a hydrogel mixture that keeps the roots moist. They are then bundled and kept in cold storage until they are shipped via UPS to your home.
Shortages in planting stock can occur after order processing begins so please submit your order as soon as possible. Orders are filled on a first-come, first-served basis until supplies are depleted.
Out-of-State Orders -- If you live outside Kentucky, please check with your home state forestry agency to determine if it has seedlings available. If it does not and you would like to order from the Kentucky Division of Forestry, contact the division at 800-866-0555 for additional shipping and handling costs for out-of-state shipments.
* Please note that out-of-state orders will not be accepted until Nov. 1 and all orders are subject to refusal.
